NEW! Algebra Essentials Online Course
It's easy enough to see that two points make a line when you're looking at a graph, but for the GED® test, you need to be able to start with the coordinate pairs of two points and write the equation of the line that passes through them.
There's just two things you need to know in order to write the equation of a line in slope-intercept form- m, the slope, and, b, the y-intercept. Use the slope formula to find m then solve for b. Finally, plug those values into y=mx+b.
