It's easy to recognize perpendicular lines on a graph; they come to a T- meeting at a perfect right angle. But what does that mean for the equations of a line?
Perpendicular lines have slopes that are opposite in two ways. They have the opposite sign, and they are reciprocals. One you know the slope of a line, it's easy enough to solve for the y-intercept, then plug both into the slope-intercept form of a line.
